fter joining our community partners Fig Bethlehem at Zoellner Arts Center to celebrate the launch of their Fall 2017 issue, and after dinner and a quick change at home, it was getting close to time for the age-old tradition of SteelStacks Open Mic, hosted by Billy Bauer.
No lie, I’ve come to look forward to making a regular Thursday thing out of this. It gives me an excuse to break away from a screen for a couple of short, precious hours and interact with real-live people. It also doesn’t hurt that there’s typically some good talent on tap.
Tonight, we were treated to a featured set from Charter Arts prodigy, Jay-T, whose four-song set was polished beyond his years. This isn’t the first time we saw the young singer-songwriter, but we were happy for the extended listen. The young man even broke out some original material, which we hope to hear more of in the near future as he continues to develop as an artist.
And, as always, there was plenty more where that came from, including short sets from Bauer, theLionhearted, George Young, Kara Hartzell, and more. Check out the photos!
