After releasing their debut EP “Brain Potion” in March, Kutztown, PA’s Scruft got right back to work and their latest effort drops today. “The Curse of the Scruft” is a unique blend of punk and psychedelic rock, and is a nice follow-up to their earlier release.
Nicholas Neely (guitar/vocals) stands out with some catchy licks throughout. This is especially evident on “The Gentrifier,” an instrumental track that rounds out the three-song EP. Elsewhere, “Eat Grass” features a soft, tasteful bass solo from Jacob Shuby about halfway through, and Landy Hoffman is solid on drums.
You can check out the band on Bandcamp or Facebook to learn more. Also, I highly recommend giving them a listen on Spotify now.
