Lansdale-based singer-songwriter Cubbage – who has been seen performing in the Valley pretty frequently of late – is preparing to release a brand new EP, “Where We Left Off,” on May 11.

Today, “The Gate” – the lead single from the new effort – has been opened.

Its bluesy chords and lyrical sax provide great support for Cubbage’s soulful vocals, which are – no exaggeration – reminiscent of John Legend on this track. All of the above come together in a brilliant melodic crescendo, and should get you looking forward to picking up “Where We Left Off.”
