Lisa’s Lens: The Dull Blue Lights Shine
On Friday, I went to Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks with plans of seeing classical hip hop duo Black Violin, who have gained popularity as they periodically visit the Lehigh Valley with a live show that successfully merges just about every genre known to man.
Unfortunately, I would come to find out that the duo re-scheduled for Sunday, September 10. However, the people at SteelStacks still gave us a show.
The Dull Blue Lights, an indie rock five-piece from Philly with a lot of energy and a funky sound. These guys were recently at Musikfest early in the festival, and Gerard caught their set and really seemed to enjoy it. I can see why: fans of vintage rock and roll in particular will enjoy the band’s clean presentation and danceable sound.
I’ve included some shots I took below. And, below that, you can stream the band’s self-titled, full-length debut.
