Earlier this week, the prospect of a possible snowstorm on Friday had us carefully watching the forecast, giving us flashbacks to when we had to cancel the March edition of First Friday.
Fortunately for us, Mother Nature not only showed mercy this time around, but cooperated in a big way by giving us a beautiful spring afternoon for our biggest First Friday since October.
And so we, SouthSide Arts District, Banko Beverage Co., and Fig Bethlehem teamed up to deliver 11 performers across nine South Bethlehem venues. The diverse talents of (in alphabetical order) Atown Slim, The Ancient Oaks, Billy Bauer Band, Evan Miklosey, Jordan White, Mosey Beat, Neil Grover, Pat Foran Music, Stacy Gabel, StillCraft Band, and Tye Vallone of The Groove Merchants brought South Bethlehem to life with everything from hip hop and pop, to rock, soul, and intricate jams.
Credit, of course, is due to our host venues. Previous First Friday participants The Banana Factory, Domaci, Godfrey Daniels, Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub, Sotto Santi, and Southside 313 Bar & Grille joined first-timers EZ Money, The Funhouse, and Touchstone Theatre to provide a series of diverse backdrops and paint a vibrant picture of South Bethlehem.
We’ll be back with another edition of #LVUFirstFriday on Friday, May 4, with lineup announcements coming as soon as this week. For now, take a look at this one through our lens!
