As a light rain fell over Bethlehem around lunchtime, one of our many great South Bethlehem restaurants helped shelter us from the storm.

Tex-Mex restaurant General Zapata, located at 15 E. 4th St., was the host of Friday’s Out to Lunch Concert Series performance from Kara Hartzell. The intimate eatery was the perfect location for some acoustic tunes from the singer-songwriter, who is preparing to release a follow-up to her 2017 debut EP, “When I’m Home,” later this summer.

It was the first of two SouthSide performances for Hartzell on the day, with the second being at Domaci (21 E. Third St) from 7-8:30 p.m. as part of the Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series.
