Does Twitter Still Matter for Musicians?

Have you ever found yourself saying, “I don’t do Twitter?” According to CD Baby, you might want to re-think that position if you’re a musician.

The digital music distributor’s DIY Musician blog posted an article highlighting the advantages Twitter holds for musicians that they can’t necessarily enjoy on other social platforms. Chief among the advantages: the ability to use the platform to push your external content, without taking a hit due to the network’s algorithms. Here’s an excerpt:

Twitter lets you tweet all day long with links to Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, websites, whatever. And those tweets don’t get ground to nothing just because they lead users to content that isn’t native to Twitter.
