Last year, 2018 Carolina Music Award nominee Smoke From All The Friction released their full-length album “Transience,” a nine-song compilation of moody electronic pop.

The Raleigh, NC-based band quickly made an impression at home and abroad by releasing the album’s first single, “Cross and Tattoo,” coming away with a nod for Electronica Single of the Year from the Indie Music Awards by Banks Radio Australia.

There are a variety of sounds and ideas at play here. Tracks like “One of You” and “Meant to Be” carry a late-era disco vibe, while a softer more ambient tone awaits on closing track, “Bead of the Necklace.” Overall, “Transience” is a very well-arranged album which makes for an enjoyable listen; one that shines in its musical compositions and well-crafted harmonies.
