Earlier this year, we here at UMC had a chance to sit down with MICVH for an enlightening conversation about, among many other things, her debut EP, Singularity. During that conversation, she told us that the EP is a representation of “all the things that exist within me.”
Perhaps, then, there is no better sum of all parts on the release — for MICVH, and all of us — than lead single “Copper and Wine.” Its mellow acoustic guitar and light percussion lend support to the singer’s soothing delivery, as she draws from her own experiences — from the highest heights, to her lowest points — to assure the listener of the beauty in every moment.
“Sometimes we question the way things go in life, like ‘Why didn’t this work out in my favor?’ If you could just see that it did,” MICVH said at the time. “It just didn’t work out the way you thought it was going to. Everything is exactly as it should be, and that’s that song. Just trust it.”
