Vera Bloom’s ‘Love Like Knives’ Honors a Sisterly Bond

Family ties are often the ones that remain with us throughout our lives.

For Nashville-based rocker Vera Bloom, it was the bond she shares with her older sister inspired her latest single, “Love Like Knives.” Released on December 4, the hard-edged tune’s palpable energy can be felt the whole way through, from the opening guitar feedback that leads us in, and through every word sung by Vera, who confidently delivers a message of perpetual, unconditional love.

“The underlying message here is that I love my sister and I wish I wasn’t so far away from her,” said Vera, who originally hails from the Pacific Northwest. “I wanted to show her how important she is to me by writing her a song.”

Want more from Vera Bloom? You’re in luck! Her self-titled EP just dropped on Friday. And, she’ll be joining us as The Quinn Spinn’s first in-studio guest of 2021 on Monday, February 15.
