Emily Nicole Green Assures Us ‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’

Tragedy often moves us to act. For Emily Nicole Green, tragedy inspired her to offer a song of hope.

Hailing from New York City, Green penned her single “It’s Gonna Be Okay” as a response to the Uvalde, TX school shooting that made national headlines on May 24, 2022. Green’s powerful vocal brings forth the swirl of emotions we feel during troubling times, while offering a prevailing sense of hope and healing.

“I was consumed with worry about how the parents were going to get through this time, and this song just poured out of me as an offering to them,” Green said. “Although that tragedy is what it was borne out of, this song is an offering to anyone who is experiencing any kind of emotional pain of any kind.”

Green didn’t act alone in the creation of “It’s Gonna Be Okay,” which features contributions from all-star players including pedal steel player Matt McDaniel (Luke Combs) and upright bassist Barry Bales (Alison Krauss). The track is from her upcoming EP, OUTRUNNING THE ANIMAL, and can be previewed below!
