Founder’s Picks: Musikfest was the Best Fest
I must say, it’s hard to pick “favorites” sometimes. This is one of those times, because there have been a ton of great festivals around the Valley this year.

First, let me start by saying that this category, like all of them, could have gone a number of ways. For example, I could have chosen a song with the grit of Roi & the Secret People’s “Hungry.” Just as tempting was the prospect of choosing VoirVoir’s youthful anthem, “I Wanna,” or virtually any track from Rofo Audio. In the end, however, I went a bit south to Philly, where The Wayside Shakeup released their single, “Stay Up,” earlier this year.
This time last year, I registered LehighValleyUnderground.com. When I did that, I knew that I wanted to create a local, accessible source of music news – one which would cover our scene in its truest entirety. However, what I didn’t know was where to begin. I had only been a Bethlehem resident for six months at the time and, while I knew that there were people making music all around me, I didn’t know very many of them.
With the official start of the holidays just a week away, we’re preparing for this time of year to be one of reflection. It’s a good time to take stock of where we’ve been, are, and hope to go.
