PHOTOS: Rocking the Valley’s Tommy Zito Benefit

On Sunday, Rocking the Valley held a benefit for the recently-hospitalized Tommy Zito, a locally renowned musician and entertainer. The event became so big that it outgrew the internet radio station’s usual haunt of the Jetport Bar & Lounge.

Fortunately, an adjacent ballroom inside of the connected Days Inn hotel was available, providing the perfect space for a packed house and an inspired evening of local music.

Dina Hall to Host Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley Fundraiser

With her workshop, “Finding Your Voice, and Making It Heard,” singer-songwriter, recording artist, graphic artist, entrepreneur, mother, grandmother, wife, and community activist Dina Hall chronicles the journey of a shy introvert who learned how to look within herself for the ability to take on adversity, and strengthen her family and her community.

On Saturday, May 28, Hall will bring her program to Bethlehem’s Charles Brown Ice House.

This Saturday, it’s Mardi Gras at The Ice House

As we noted in this week’s Can’t-Miss Shows post, Jakopa’s Punch Bowl sounds like a jolly good time at The Ice House on Saturday night. Jakopa’s Punch, The Bastard Sons of Burt Sugarman, and The Charts Funk Band are throwing a fundraiser — complete with king cake, a cup of jambalaya, a cold beer, and an evening of eclectic music — in support of Touchstone Theatre’s upcoming street theatre spectacle – The Jakopa’s Punch Processional.

We wanted to learn more, so we reached out to Lisa and JP Jordan at Touchstone Theatre, who filled us in.
