UnderDogs Across Borders Benefit Concert (Virtual/In-Person)

2025 has been a breakthrough year so far for the entire Underground Music Collective community — and we’re here to make sure the magic lasts all year long (and beyond)!

That’s why we’re launching a new benefit concert series in support of our UnderDogs Across Borders campaign, with the first event — a hybrid in-person and virtual concert emanating from Nashville — taking place Wednesday, July 9 from 7-9 p.m. CT.

We’re taking you on a multi-genre thrill ride featuring four Nashville-based artists — including 2025 NEXT2RISE artist Nicolas Soul, alt-pop songwriter Virtues, R&B/soul singer and rapper Kfhox, and hip hop artist Southside MAB. Joining them on the lineup — all the way from the Lehigh Valley Underground in Pennsylvania — will be rockers Powder Valley Bang (who have been gaining some serious steam up there lately).

Need a refresher on UnderDogs Across Borders? Through this capital campaign, we aim to open the gateway to even greater collaboration. Your support bolsters UMC’s presence at major conferences and festivals in North America and Europe, while helping us build a stronger, more sustainable music industry that is ripe with fresh opportunities.

Our groundbreaking first half of 2025 featured major conference appearances, media opportunities, and the official launch of our new UnderDogs virtual community. This has established Underground Music Collective as an international super-connector for independent musicians, creative professionals, and notable brands.

Help us continue to build toward an incredible future where Creators Have the Power. Make your donation and RSVP here, and join us in Nashville or virtually (from anywhere!) on Wednesday, July 9!

NashLive! Presents: Chelcie Jette, Ria Barkr, and ARREIS at The Cobra Nashville

Pairing smooth, yet dynamic vocal melodies with full-band instrumentals, Chelcie Jette writes and creates with a vibe in mind. What is that vibe? Think a dim light room cast in bright purples and pinks, plush seating scattering the floors, and a dreamy haze that envelops the air.

Following the building momentum of noteworthy releases, national performances and festival plays including stops at MajorStage, Sofar Sounds, and iHeartRadio in NYC under a former stage name, R&B singer-songwriter Ria Barkr surrendered to the universe and began looking inward during the global shutdown. As a result, she tapped into a fountain of creativity that flowed out of the chanteuse, and into a fresh collection of new songs. Now, Ria is already a promising R&B trailblazer in her own right who’s not afraid to change the game.

Ex-church girl turned extravagant frontman, ARREIS uses her intensity intertwined with intimacy to capture the hearts and minds of her audience. In each album, ARREIS blends other genres with her mainstream dark pop sound to fit a specific mood and color (“synesthesia”). With aspirations of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, she is a meticulous band leader and bona fide diva, making her live shows stadium-ready.

NashLive! Presents: CH3LS, Allan Fine & The Finites, and Good News for Modern Man at The 5 Spot

We’ll return once again to The 5 Spot (1006 Forrest Ave., Nashville) for another night rooted in the grand tradition of rock and roll. This time, we’re bringing CH3LSAllan Fine & The Finites, and The Z-Man Experience into the fold!

True Blue Rocker Chelsee Foster (CH3LS) has been a veteran of the music industry for over a decade. In Los Angeles, she sold out legendary venues such as The Viper Room, The Whisky a Go-Go, and the Troubadour. Chelsee also worked in performance licensing for years, utilizing her music business degree. In 2019, she toured the Caribbean with Norwegian Cruise Lines’ highest-rated rock show: Syd Norman’s Pourhouse. Chelsee credits her experience as a competitive figure skater with giving her the strength and endurance necessary to put out a powerhouse performance every night. As fiery as her red hair, Chelsee’s rock vibe stands out in Nashville’s music scene!

Drawing influence from Lou Reed, Pavement, Talking Heads, and The National, The Finites started as a studio recording outlet of Nashville producer Allan Fine. Live, the synths are stripped away and replaced with electric guitars for an all-out, rock ‘n roll sound. Current members are Hyde Ennis (Lead Guitar), Chris Augustinos (Bass), and Griffin Schwab (Drums).

Good News For Modern Man was started by 22-year-old songwriter/guitarist and Virginia native Jackson Shockley. The group consists of drummer Michael Schumacher and an ever-revolving cast of musicians. Moving to Nashville in early 2020, Shockley spent the pandemic writing and recording for the project. Drawing from the classic, jangle-pop sounds of the 60’s like The Beatles and The Byrds, as well as indie 80’s acts like Hüsker Dü, The Replacements, and R.E.M., Good News For Modern Man effortlessly blends elements of sunshine pop and distorted rock with lyrics that reflect the mood and feeling of the times. Their newly released debut single, “Everything Is Fine” is now streaming everywhere.

Tickets to this show are $10 at the door. You must be 21+ to enter.

NashLive! Presents: Skylar Gregg, Charles Ellsworth, and The Daily Fare

It’s an Americana showcase in the heart of East Nashville on Wednesday, October 20, when Skylar Gregg, Charles Ellsworth, and The Daily Fare join us at The Cobra!

Skylar Gregg engages in a gripping cocktail of hard work, humor, and self discovery, expressing vivid lyrical imagery and raw grit that soaks into every note of her songwriting. The Nashville-based musician translates that into a mixed bag of retro southern music immersed in old soul, 60’s and 70’s country and blues.

Charles Ellsworth is an NYC transplant by way of the White Mountains of Arizona where he was raised on Mormon hymns and Top 40 country music. A storyteller by nature, Ellsworth’s lyrics and near-familiar melodies weave to tell stories of heartbreak and loneliness, while shining a light on the perseverance of the human spirit. A self-proclaimed “recovering toxic sadboy” — Ellsworth’s music has evolved with him. Through sobriety and self-exploration, Ellsworth has shifted from writing songs lamenting “the ones that got away,” to singing honest reflections about what caused them to leave and doing the work to be better.

Northern-born songwriters Alissa Abeler and Hannah Smith joined creative forces to form the duo now known as The Daily Fare. The pair grew up on opposite sides of the music world, with influences ranging from Judy Garland and Adele to Beethoven and Bach, with a healthy dose of Broadway, punk cabaret, and 80s ballads sprinkled in the mix.

Their shared affection for poignant and evocative narrative teamed with years of playing small intimate shows have transformed the once-placid duo’s sound into the story-weaving powerhouse they are today. With characteristically unique vocal harmonies and engaging instrumentation, The Daily Fare are carving out a niche for themselves within the Americana genre while their honest and occasionally eccentric approach to storytelling continues to engage new listeners on this creative journey. Their sound has been compared to First Aid Kit, The Milk Carton Kids, and The Civil Wars.

Live from the 615 Summer Send-off with Ele Ivory, Maggie Miles, and Abigail Osborn

Our Live from the 615 Summer Send-off will take place at The East Room (2412 Gallatin Ave., Nashville) on Monday, September 6. There, you will hear a STACKED, all-female lineup of Nashville pop artists, including Ele Ivory, Maggie Miles, and Abigail Osborn!

Ele Ivory is a Nashville based indie-pop artist who received BMI’s John Lennon Award for her song “LaZboys”. She was also featured on Season 15 of NBC’s THE VOICE as a Comeback Artist with Coach Kelsea Ballerini. Ele’s love for words and the craft of songwriting keeps her searching for fresh ways to express universal feelings. Her music honestly explores the human condition within the soundscape of piano driven organic indie-pop.

Maggie Miles is an alternative pop artist currently creating in Nashville, TN. Having just released her debut album, Am I Drowning or Am I Just Learning How to Swim, in August of 2020, Miles is eager to share the songs with ears everywhere. Her songwriting attempts to reach into the depths of the human condition and paint it with a brush anyone can recognize. Remaining relatable, while obviously grabbing from her personal encounters with life and the challenges it delivers.

By combining honest storytelling with dreamy pop melodies, Abigail Osborn creates the perfect coming of age soundtrack. With influences stemming from artists like The Japanese House and Sasha Sloan, she leaves you with melodic indie-pop that is sure to stay stuck in your head.

John McLaughlin at City Winery Nashville

TICKETS: http://bit.ly/jonmclaughlinUMC

Everything in Jon McLaughlin’s life makes its way into his music, whether he’s conscious of it or not. The artist, raised in Indiana and based in Nashville, brings all of his experiences and beliefs into each song he creates, something that is especially true now that he’s the father of two young girls.

Jon released his debut album, Indiana, in 2007 on Island Def Jam, attracting fans with his heartfelt, hook-laden songwriting and impassioned delivery. He’s released six full-lengths in the years since and revealed a true evolution in both his piano playing and singing. He’s played shows with Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson and Adele, collaborated with longtime friend Sara Bareilles, co-written with Demi Lovato and even performed at the Academy Awards in 2008.

Jon’s album, Like Us, dropped in October of 2015 via Razor & Tie, and he spent the past few years touring extensively before heading back into his Nashville studio to work on new music. Jon released a Christmas EP in 2017 titled Red & Green with two originals and his take on a few holiday classics. In November of 2018 Jon released his album Angst & Grace which features “Still My Girl” written for his youngest daughter.

Another project started in 2018 is his Dueling Pianos video series. Every episode features a new guest artist and they perform mashups of never been heard arrangements.

In Fall of 2019 Jon released an instrumental piano album titled Mood. This record demonstrates Jon’s artistry and captivates his talent as a pianist. In May 2020 the second edition of the project was released.

In August Jon put out his first Pop release Things I Say To Myself since Angst & Grace with immediate fan favorites A Break Up Song, and People Like You. Jon will wrap up 2020 with a Holiday EP release titled “Christmas Time”.

As with everything he does, Jon’s goal is to create connections. He wants to translate his experiences and ideas into music that reaches fans everywhere. His passion for music and playing is evident in each note he plays.
