Jakopa’s Punch Processional Hits the Greenway This Weekend

After months of preparation (which included a spirited fundraiser along the way), Jakopa’s Punch is venturing outside of Touchstone Theatre’s confines this weekend with a performance that promises something for everyone.

The performance, titled the Jakopa’s Punch Processional, is an adventure set to feature much more than original music. Accompanying Touchstone’s house band will be a variety of performers, including an aerialist, stilt walkers, larger-than-life puppets, pirates, robots, and goat men. The full-blown theatrical performance — part of Cirque IT!, a weekend-long circus arts festival presented by Touchstone alongside ArtsQuest and Zoellner Arts Center — is described as “part circus, part rock concert, part puppet spectacular.”

The Jakopa’s Punch Processional is free and open to the public Friday and Saturday, July 14-15, at 6:30 p.m. The event will begin at the Chinese Harmony Pavilion, located at the 200 block of the South Bethlehem Greenway. More information can be found here.
