The spirit of independent art was in the air at Allentown’s Cedar Beach Park on Saturday afternoon, where long-awaited (by some) brisk fall conditions didn’t stop the crowds from coming out to enjoy Day 2 of Allentown ArtsFest.
Our friends and WLVU: The Sound of The Underground colleagues Tape Swap Radio are quite the respected entity in the local DIY community. Not only does their show broadcast on our fine station and on WDIY 88.1 FM, but they’re well-renowned for their periodical live indie showcases throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Like the weather, the music scene plans to stay hot this week, with another weekend festival highlighting the action.

Continuing the trend of our local libraries hosting full-time touring musicians, Allentown Public Library (1210 Hamilton St.) will be joining the action on the evening of Wednesday, October 4.
