Music on the Move Showcase to Feature a Tribute to Larysa Jaye

Music on the Move Studios has unveiled the lineup for its April 2 all-female showcase at 3rd & Lindsley — and it features a tribute to late Nashville musician Larysa Jaye, who tragically passed away unexpectedly in December.

The tribute to Larysa Jaye will feature performances from Nashville-based artists Katie Basden, Jenny Teator, Lauren Anderson, and Sarina Joi. Joining them on the lineup will be GRAMMY-winning songwriter Melody Walker, Radio SoBro host and country artist Zoe Jean Fowler, and country/Americana singer-songwriter Caryn Dixon. As always, this all-star lineup will be supported by Music on the Move’s all-female house band, Erin McLendon & The HellCats.

Tickets for this special night start at $15, and are available for purchase here. A percentage of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Larysa Jaye Family Foundation.

Last week on The Quinn Spinn, we welcomed Music on the Move Studios co-founder, musician, and ECM member Erin McLendon to discuss the growth and evolution of the Music on the Move Showcase, which was set for Tuesday, October 10 at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley.

As always, this semi-annual celebration of community among Nashville’s female musicians and entrepreneurs delivered the goods!

Backed by Erin McLendon & The HellCats, the showcase’s all-female lineup featured a diverse set of performances from pop-rock songwriter Kaylee Federmann, Florida-born country artist Sarah Morey, soul and R&B songstress Amber Sweeney, and the punk-influenced Lunchbox Rachel. Plus, those in attendance on this night to remember got to shop at woman-owned pop-up boutiques, including Rock’n Boho and No Sass Creations.

We had the privilege to attend and capture photos throughout the night, which you’ll find below. Take a look through our lens as we congratulate everyone on the Music on the Move Studios team!

So, every once in a while, we’ll take a trip Around the Underground to see what our friends and colleagues are cooking up — and present ways for you to get involved!

Nashville Female Artists: Music on the Move Showcase Submissions Open July 7

We had a delightful time at The Basement East in March, when Music on the Move Studios hosted its most recent all-female showcase. True to form, this was a phenomenal night of live music and community building that broke down genre barriers and gave women a voice.

If you’re a musician, and you’ve been wondering when you’d have another chance to participate in one of these, we have good news: submissions for Music on the Move’s next showcase open on Friday, July 7!

WATCH: Erin McLendon’s ‘Sunday Crowd’ Video Unites the Congregation

Back in July — on the way to the release of her self-titled EP — Erin McLendon released “Sunday Crowd,” a song which acknowledges the skeletons even the holiest of holy rollers have in their closets.

Last Friday, McLendon dropped a new music video for “Sunday Crowd,” celebrating our differences and the common threads that unite us all.

Music on the Move Showcase: LBGTQ Edition ft. Lord Goldie, Lauren Horbal, and Liv Greene

Last month, Music on the Move Studios was set to bring a Pride-themed LGBTQ showcase to BentoLiving Chestnut Hill, but then… COVID happened.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that the show is now rescheduled for The East Room on Wednesday, August 31.

Still joining Erin McLendon & The HellCats will be Lord Goldie, Lauren Horbal, and Liv Greene. The event is also set to feature pop-up shops from a host of Nashville-based, female-owned businesses.

Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at this link.
