We have a growing multitude of reasons to be excited about 2023 here at UMC. Certainly, the strong musical opening statement provided by you, the independent artists of planet Earth, is among them.

Looks like we get a bonus UMC20 this month, with January having five Tuesdays and all.
So, we’re using this opportunity to spread our wings a bit, bringing you a lot of first-timers to the UMC ecosystem mixed in with some returning friends with brand-new songs.
We’ll be back next Tuesday with the Best of January, and for certain, a few of these will make the cut. Till then, revel in the splendors of this week’s compilation.

Last week, we told you we were sitting on a treasure trove of upcoming submissions. This week, we’re excited to tell you that many of them have made their ways into the world!
Seriously, we’re amazed. How do you all ensure that we have a fresh bounty of sounds to compile every single week? Credit goes to the indie musicians of Earth for always making this happen, without question.

It seems like everyone is beginning to awaken from their holiday-induced winter slumber. We’ve certainly been busy over here at UMC, and from the looks of it, plenty of musicians in our orbit are, too. For one thing, this week is set to be a big one for releases, and you’ll surely hear some of those in this space this time next week.
But… let’s not get ahead of ourselves, because we have plenty of fire to keep you warm in the meantime. What do you say we get right to it?

Welcome to 2023! We’re glad you’re here.
We’re also glad to see that the independent artists of Earth have been busy, even through the holidays, by sending us loads of new music to greet us upon our return to Nashville. We start 2023 the same way we’ve persisted in prior years; by having no shortage of musical flavors to present to you all.

The premiere of our 2022 UMC50 compilation — highlighting top tracks from throughout the year — will take place next Tuesday, December 27.
So, we’re hitting you with this month’s list as a precursor of what’s to come. Certainly, a couple of these cuts may find their way onto the year-end playlist. You’ll just have to wait a week to find out which ones…
