The Dark Masquerade (presented by Housequake, with support from NashLive! and Underground Music Collective) is an inclusive, Halloween-themed celebration of art, music, and community. This first-of-its-kind event will feature the musical talents of LGBTQ+ dark pop artists. Attendees will enjoy a Halloween costume contest and giveaways hosted by popular Nashville-based drag performer, VAG.
GAYLE is a 17-year-old pop artist based in Nashville who began releasing music independently at age 15, and was recently signed to Atlantic Records. GAYLE is about to embark on a U.S. tour this fall on the momentum of of her latest single, “abcdefu,” which has surpassed 2.6 million Spotify streams to date.
Based in Nashville, TN, Notelle is an independent artist working as a featured vocalist and topliner since 2014. Collaborating with DJs and producers around the globe, she has accumulated over 31+ million streams, as both a writer and artist. Now, Notelle is exploring her solo artistry. She has spent the past two years developing her version of “dark industrial pop”. After being recognized by The Nashville Scene and Tuned Up Music as a “Nashville Artist To Watch”, called a “genuine, revelatory breath of fresh air” by No Country For New Nashville, selected as local radio stations’ 102.9 The Buzz and Lightning 100’s “Artist of the Week”, Notelle has quickly made a name for herself in the noisy, over-saturated, Nashville pop world.
Talia Stewart has made waves with her dark pop sound on Nashville’s alternative scene in recent years, and released an EP titled Murder, She Wrote earlier this year. The lead single, “This Killing Floor,” has garnered more than 20,000 Spotify streams to date. Talia’s recent success adds to her already impressive resume, which includes placements on CW television series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, as well as viral success on TikTok for her single, “Look Ma No Hands.”
Austin Blue is a Nashville-based pop performer and visual artist. Austin’s vibrant sense of creativity shines through in everything he does. He’s also enjoyed quite a bit of streaming success — Austin’s single, “Painter,” has amassed more than 1.1 million Spotify streams to date, and his music maintains a strong following in the U.S. and across the globe.

Thursday night was a hot one in Music City, as Americanafest continued all over town.
For us, that meant hanging out at 1 Cannery Row, whose venues — Cannery Ballroom, Mercy Lounge, The High Watt, and One — featured enough diverse musical offerings and electricity in the air to feel like its own festival within the larger scope of the city’s week-long celebration.
