Tonight, it’s all about opening night of our 2023 NashLive! Cobra Series at The Cobra Nashville.
Joining us in this endeavor — our first presented show of the year — will be a stellar lineup featuring ARREIS, Chelcie Jette, and Ria Barkr. Two of the three artists on the bill have released music and/or visuals today, meaning that we’re throwing a double release party for the ages.
Tickets are available here for $10, and it’s 21+ up to enter when doors open at 8 p.m.
If you’re in Nashville, you should come out. But, no matter where you are, you can get a sampling of the lineup with this week’s Songs You Should Hear!
Hear What You Should
On Tuesday, September 27, we’ll head back to The Cobra Nashville to bring you a diversified lineup featuring the talents of Nashville’s Aaron Friend & The Enemies, in between touring artists Edgar Derby and Leoncarlo.
Edgar Derby has been making music for over two decades. He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and is currently based in Denton, Texas. Derby’s music fuses acoustic, lyric-based folk with a unique songwriting style and energetic performances. He treats a live audience to a multi-instrumental show that includes vocals, guitars, a resonator, and harmonicas. Edgar Derby’s sophomore LP, Dancing in Death/The Place Where the River Makes a Sound, was released February 13, 2021.
Urgent, uplifting, and wildly anthemic, the music of Aaron Friend & The Enemies radiates a brilliant energy that boldly amplifies its emotional power. With captivating vocals and soul-baring lyrics, Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and producer Aaron Friend created his latest body of work after a period of personal upheaval and self-discovery, channeling his deepest pain and uncertainty into songs that question, confront, and endlessly illuminate. The result: an essential soundtrack to self-reflection, raw catharsis, and life-changing transformation.
Leoncarlo is a musician, violinist, and educator based in North Texas. His career took shape while attending the University of North Texas for violin, as Leoncarlo would begin to travel nationwide, performing and speaking at reputable events such as SXSW Festival in Texas, Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado, TEDx Conference in Fargo, and more. He has had the honor of collaboration with esteemed musical acts like Polyphonic Spree, Alejandro Escovedo, and Melanie Safka, to name a few. Off stage, Leoncarlo offers various audio production work, as well as music lessons at Soundbox MusicWorks (formerly known as Bonduris School of Music) in Denton, TX.
Tickets for this show are just $10, and you must be 21 or older to enter. Doors are at 8 p.m., with music promptly kicking off at 8:30 p.m.

Last month, Music on the Move Studios was set to bring a Pride-themed LGBTQ showcase to BentoLiving Chestnut Hill, but then… COVID happened.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that the show is now rescheduled for The East Room on Wednesday, August 31.
Still joining Erin McLendon & The HellCats will be Lord Goldie, Lauren Horbal, and Liv Greene. The event is also set to feature pop-up shops from a host of Nashville-based, female-owned businesses.
Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at this link.
We — as in, NashLive! — are teaming up with #PopRocks founder Jon Pattie to bring you a night of community, musicianship, and storytelling. It takes place on Saturday, February 26, and will be the first NashLive! event ever to take place at Springwater Supper Club (115 27th Ave. N., Nashville).
As for the lineup? Jon will be opening the night once again. We’re also thrilled to be re-joined by two NashLive! alums in Natasha Blaine and TROY.
When we last checked in with Natasha Blaine, we were at The East Room back in July. Since then, she has released her latest single, “Paris Again,” and has continued to light up Nashville with her soulful live performances.
And! Speaking of soul, TROY brought his captivating pop rock storytelling and showmanship to The East Room back in October, as part of the first-ever 615Fest. Since then, he’s released a couple of acoustic singles, with more fun sure to come throughout 2022.
Tickets for this NashLive! and #PopRocks collaboration are on sale now for just $10, and will also be available at the door. Music starts at 8 p.m., and you need to be 21 or older to come part

We’ll be back at The East Room on Thursday, November 11 with another fresh lineup of Nashville-based female pop artists Chloé Hogan, Alyssa Lazar, and Ali Henderson.
Chloé Hogan takes pieces of every artist she’s ever heard, to inspire her storytelling and songwriting. Her music includes an array of old Motown soul harmonies and live-sounding instrumentals. Though most of what Chloé writes seems to be accented by its bright and groovy nature, the lyrics and overall feeling behind the music are much more somber. The “timeless” conversation of love — and the more evident loss — is the focal point of each work. The incredible dichotomy of her uplifting grooves, partnered with her melancholy lyrical composition, is perhaps the most unique component of Chloé Hogan’s music.
Fueled by the sound and passion of classic rock and roll music, Alyssa Lazar brings a 1970’s nostalgia to today’s pop/rock music. Lazar grew up in Scranton, PA, constantly surrounded by music, and began singing at the age of three. Her transition from singer to musical artist began when she learned to play the piano at the age of eight. Following this, she began to write songs, compose, and accompany herself for shows and performances at every venue throughout her hometown weekly by the age of fifteen. After high school, Alyssa moved to Nashville, TN to continue pursuing her music career. Her love for piano mixed with her love for classic rock brought Alyssa’s music to a sound reminiscent of artists such as Elton John, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, and Queen. Lazar unapologetically brings out her fiery spirit and dauntless attitude within her theatrical, rock and roll inspired sound.
South Carolina native-turned-Nashville resident Ali Henderson was born to be something special. While southern culture is often synonymous with sweet tea, warm nights, and Country music, it’s always refreshing for an Alt-pop artist like Henderson to emerge from quaint towns like Gaffney, South Carolina. In 2015, Henderson earned a one-way ticket to Hollywood thanks to American Idol, impressing the likes of Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez. After the show she moved to Nashville, where she completed a degree in Songwriting. Gutsy lyrics, fresh yet familiar instrumentation, and killer vocals are Henderson’s M.O.
$10 at the door | 18+ to enter | Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative test
We make our debut at The Cobra Nashville on Thursday, October 14 — and we’ll be accompanied by the talents of Krantz, Monte Mader, and The Mad Sugars to celebrate!
Krantz can best be described as “rock ‘n roll in color from Music City, USA.” Those who join us as Cobra better be ready for some earworms, including the new single, “Louisiana,” set to drop this fall!
