Riding the Waves to 2021 with Timothy Myles

For as long as we’ve been in Nashville, our path has intertwined with Timothy Myles on several occasions. The Chicago native came into our sights when we entered and won the first-ever Top Writer Series at Nashville’s True Music Room in 2019. Since then, we’ve followed his journey, and have always found his wisdom and perspective to be perspective.

You’ll see that shine through here, as we discuss the ways Timothy has maneuvered through the COVID-19 pandemic to continue growing, all while keeping his sights set on brighter days in 2021 and beyond. This is the perfect episode to end the year… and it even has some surprise closing theme music, to boot!

Hard Work and Worldly Perspective: The Southern Gothic’s Connor Christian

The Southern Gothic released their six-song EP, Burnin’ Moonlight, this past Friday, December 4. Before the release, we sat down with frontman Connor Christian to learn about the record, his favorite moments, and the difference between crafting a release in the studio, as opposed to on the road.

We go much deeper than that. We discuss Connor’s well-traveled youth, which he spent in locations all over the world. In addition, we hear the band’s story of consistent hard work that took The Southern Gothic from an Atlanta-area cover band, to a versatile juggernaut that has opened for the likes of Willie Nelson, ZZ Top, and many more!

The Quinn Spinn: A Discussion About Life, Relationships, and Podcasting with Kaelyn Warne

Kaelyn Warne is a Ph.D student and the host of Seasoned & STEAMed, a research-based podcast about art, science, history, and wellness, delivered in a fun, quirky, and educational way. We connected with Kaelyn as an ambitious fellow podcaster at Helping Our Music Evolve (H.O.M.E.), and have had the opportunity to watch, as she has launched her new podcast from scratch.

One day, we were in the studio, taking her through the setup process as she prepared to record her first episodes. We sat down to test out the microphones and, before we knew it, we had an unexpected episode of The Quinn Spinn on our hands!

During this episode, we discuss what it’s like to build a platform like ours from scratch, and the ways in which our passions dictate our free time and impact our relationships — familial, romantic, and otherwise. This is a can’t-miss conversation for anybody with a creative pursuit!
