We had such a great time presenting a DIY showcase alongside Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley back in February that we’ve decided to team up and do it again…
…and this time, it will take place during the May edition of #LVUFirstFriday!
Saturday night at Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley (25 E. 3rd St., Bethlehem) was the first of its kind: a regional DIY showcase featuring five acts, each with its own distinct style, to make for a vibrant night painted in varying shades of rock and roll.
This week, our scene has loads of music from across the rock spectrum – from the psychedelic, to the emo, to the straight-up stuff. There’s even some bluegrass!

An acclaimed singer-songwriter playing amid the pottery of Color Me Mine, and the alt-country sounds of Acoustic Kitty Project at the Comfort Suites are part of the diverse music experiences SouthSide Arts & Music Festival (SSAMF) attendees can enjoy for free, thanks to a new partnership between ArtsQuest and Lehigh Valley Underground.
On Saturday, February 24, frequent First Friday partner venue Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley (25 E. Third St., Bethlehem) will take one step further into the realm of hosting live music with a big night of indie rock.
CJ Dunleavy, a singer-songwriter hailing from nearby Doylestown, reached out to us to bring our attention to his ‘Philadelphia Indie‘ Spotify playlist, which celebrates its first birthday this Friday, January 12.
Since we’re in the mood for celebrating birthdays lately, we figured we’d have a listen.
There is a lot going on in LVU Land behind-the-scenes these days. They’re all good things that come with growth, we assure you, and we hope to be able to let some cats out of bags soon.

The First Friday of the month meant that it was once again time for South Bethlehem to be filled with the sounds of live, local music.
The spirit of independent art was in the air at Allentown’s Cedar Beach Park on Saturday afternoon, where long-awaited (by some) brisk fall conditions didn’t stop the crowds from coming out to enjoy Day 2 of Allentown ArtsFest.
