Katie’s band, KB & The Idyllwilde, released their debut EP, I Just Wanna Let You, I Just Wanna Let You back on Valentine’s Day. The album represents boundless creativity, blending many shades of rock, Americana, and soul into a dynamic, energized five-song volume.

Leading off that volume is “Madman,” which serves as a proper introduction to the band’s offbeat style. With a palpable grit that blurs the line between grunge and guitar-driven Southern rock, the opening track also carries a bit of down-home sensibility with its red-hot fiddle work. Bringing it all together is Burke, whose vocals project eccentricity and soul, captivating the listener in a way that would make Janis Joplin proud.
