It’s Father’s Day, which is a joyous occasion for many. However, that isn’t the case for all.

Offering a more somber take on the holiday is Caley Rose. The California-based pop artist just released “Father,” which she describes as “an emotional ballad exploring the facets of a heartbreaking, unacknowledged father-daughter relationship.”

“It contains the most vulnerable lyrics I have written yet, so much so that it makes me uncomfortable to release,” Rose explained. “But, that is what we songwriters must do: hold up a mirror to our lives and show the truth of our hearts.”
