If you’re in the Lehigh Valley, chances are you already know what awaits you at the end of this week. It’s time for Musikfest!
As usual, we’ll have a Five-Point Preview each day of the festival, highlighting the free stage performances that you need to experience. However, there’s plenty else happening this week off of festival grounds that you should know about (hello, #LVUFirstFriday).
Let’s explore!
The Lehigh Valley with Love ComedyPlatz is returning to Musikfest with two free nights of stand-up comedy on August 10 and 11 at The Ice House on 56 River Street.
From live demonstrations of hot glass blowing to the shady comfort of kids crafts at the Crayola Creativity Tent, this year’s Musikfest has something for art lovers of all ages.
ArtsQuest recently announced that Sands Steel Stage headliners Daughtry and GROUPLOVE will each have the support of a local opener when the 35th annual Musikfest takes place in Bethlehem next month.
Since 2016, we’ve teamed up with the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA)Â to present a local talent showcase during Musikfest. We’ll do it again, presenting a pair of full bands and shining a light on local music at the nation’s largest free outdoor music festival!

GRAMMY-winning guitar virtuoso Gary Clark Jr. and indie-pop sweethearts GROUPLOVE will rock Musikfest when they perform at the Sands Steel Stage Wed., Aug. 8, 7 p.m. and Thurs., Aug. 9, 7 p.m., respectively. Tickets for the Gary Clark Jr. performance are $39-$59, and tickets for the GROUPLOVE concert are $25-$39. They go on sale starting today, May 29, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Fri., June 1, 10 a.m., to the public at www.musikfest.org and 610-332-3378.Â

Jason Mraz, Brantley Gilbert, Jim Gaffigan, Kesha, Marc Broussard, Colony House, Marshall Crenshaw, Squirrel Nut Zippers, the Original Wailers, We are Scientists and !!! are among the nearly 400 performers taking the stage as part of the 35th edition of Musikfest, the nation’s largest free-admission music festival. The event, set for Aug. 3-12 in Bethlehem, Pa., will feature music at 16 of its 18 total venues, with more than 500 free music and art performances during its 10-day run.
With spring right around the corner, it’s time to start giving serious thought about the ever-approaching 35th annual edition of Musikfest.
And, if your a comedian, that means applying to perform during the second annual Lehigh Valley with Love Comedyplatz.
