Those heading to Allentown ArtsFest in a couple weeks will have an opportunity at a hands-on music making experience, courtesy of our electronic cousins at 610 Underground.
One of the exciting recent additions to our monthly First Friday Concert Series festivities in South Bethlehem is our partnership with 610 Underground. The local electronic music collective curates a lineup of DJs every month to take the party well into the wee hours of the evening.
Much of Elaine Rasnake’s earlier recordings are characterized by the merging of both acoustic folk and sampled electronic influences.
Local veteran bluesman James Supra joined The Quinn Spinn to talk about his exciting summer plans, including his collaborations with artists like Sarah Ayers and more.
Austin-based electronica duo Missio will perform at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks’ Musikfest Cafe on Saturday, July 1 at 8 p.m.
Comprised of Matthew Brue and David Butler, Missio broke on to the influential Alt-18 Countdown of SiriusXM’s Alt Nation earlier this year with its single, “Middle Fingers,” with the song topping the countdown the week of April 3. The single precedes the duo’s much-anticipated full-length debut, LONER, slated for release May 19.
The duo’s Bethlehem stop is just one in a busy year. Missio embarked on a major U.S. tour as topliners for Alt Nation’s Advanced Placement Tour with 888, Coast Modern, and Sundara Karma. The pair is also making a number of festival appearances throughout the spring and summer, including Hangout Music Festival in Alabama May 19, Firefly Music Festival in Delaware June 16, and Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 4.
Tickets to see Missio at SteelStacks go on sale this Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $10-$15 in advance and $12-$17 on the day of the show.
For more information on this and all other SteelStacks events, visit SteelStacks.org or call (610) 332-3378.
