This week, we look ahead!
When diving into Oceans Over Airplanes, I started out simply wanting to review their latest single, “Colour.” Released in late 2018, “Colour” showcases OOA’s brand of emo/alternative rock in a way that begs you to listen to more. Driven by an outstanding drummer in Joseph Bickham, this Northwest Indiana band delivers a great blend of powerful vocals from bassist Tony Pagorek and a very solid sound from guitarist Mike Anderson.
If there’s one thing that stands out about “Old Flames,” the debut full-length album from Seymour, Indiana alt rockers These Fine Gentlemen, it’s versatility. The band clearly has a bevy of influences that made their way into its writing process, and the fact is that these six Gentlemen are already very good at channeling them all.
Greensboro, NC-based alternative quartet Lowborn has released “Be Like Me,” an rallying cry about chasing dreams with electric pop undertones that are equal parts dark and powerful.
We’ve teamed up with South Bethlehem’s Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley on quite a few music events over the past year. Some have, of course, been a part of our First Friday Concert Series, while we’ve also worked together to host performances during SouthSide Arts & Music Festival and other independent ventures.
On Saturday, August 25, we’ll be back at it again!
Singer-songwriter Malachi McNeill is preparing to release his latest album, “Sink,” next month under his project Statues and Stories.
Now, we have our first, emotionally compelling taste of the new record.
We had such a great time presenting a DIY showcase alongside Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley back in February that we’ve decided to team up and do it again…
…and this time, it will take place during the May edition of #LVUFirstFriday!
Saturday night at Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley (25 E. 3rd St., Bethlehem) was the first of its kind: a regional DIY showcase featuring five acts, each with its own distinct style, to make for a vibrant night painted in varying shades of rock and roll.
On Saturday, February 24, frequent First Friday partner venue Color Me Mine Lehigh Valley (25 E. Third St., Bethlehem) will take one step further into the realm of hosting live music with a big night of indie rock.
