Coach’s Corner: Understanding Your Value Proposition

I had the privilege of welcoming Dylan Huey to my podcast, The Quinn Spinn, this past Thursday. For those who don’t know Dylan, he is a USC senior, entrepreneur, musician, social media genius, and mental health advocate. He’s also the CEO of REACH, which works to unite passionate influencers, digital marketers, and social media enthusiasts from universities across the United States.

I asked Dylan how digital creators — like us! — can stand out in a crowded marketplace and build successful platforms, while also remaining authentic to their values.

Dylan’s response? Find your value proposition! (Watch below for an explanation.)

This got me thinking: what questions can we ask ourselves to develop and effectively communicate our value proposition? For starters, I came up with these three:

  1. How does your journey inform the message you wish to communicate to your audience?
  2. Which platforms will be most effective in communicating that message?
  3. What value will your audience get from your content that they won’t find anywhere else?

Are there any questions would you add to the list? Share yours in the comments!
