This Friday night, five local musicians will come together as a band to pay tribute to Chester Bennington and the rest of Linkin Park, after the beloved frontman tragically took his own life over the summer.
Alt-metal veterans CKY are coming to Easton’s One Centre Square on Saturday, November 19 — and, when they come to town, they’ll be bringing a boatload of local company with them.
With “Last Time We Spoke,” fresh alt-rock five-piece Widow’s Work is doing their part to prove that screamo is still alive and well.

AC, drummer for Nazareth punks The Road Sodas, forever has the distinction of being the featured artist in our 500th post, an interview with LVU contributor Ambrose Tardive.
On St. Patrick’s Day, he and his bandmates distinguished themselves further, this time as one of the heaviest, grooviest punk bands the Valley has seen in recent memory with the release of their self-titled EP, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Nate West.
The arctic winds are expected to roll into our region this week. However, those of us on the Lehigh Valley music scene are a resilient bunch, and we won’t let it stop us from going outside.
Especially not, when you consider these…
Here at The Quinn Spinn, we are thankful year-round for your support and listening ears. Today, we give you a special Thanksgiving Week edition of our show, sponsored by The Valley Ledger.
This week’s show includes tunes from far and wide, coming together to give you another eclectic mix. We also have a holiday-appropriate edition of Somethin’ Good, as well as a special message at the end of the show.

We #ThinkPink one more time in October 2016 with a spooktacular, new music edition of The Quinn Spinn, sponsored by The Valley Ledger. This episode features another great Factory Fast Records compilation, and tunes from artists local to us and around the world.
Plus, we feature some Stupid News with a hunger, and a once (or twice) in a lifetime edition of Somethin’ Good.
We’re so sorry for the delay with our weekly list of unmissables. Things are quite busy – in a good way, of course – for LVU. We’ve had projects to work on, loose ends to tie up, and people to meet.
Don’t think for a second, though, that we won’t be hitting the scene, because you’ll surely see us at some of these…

Last night, I concluded Super Saturday by heading over to Bethlehem’s historic Ice House for the final concert of the summer in Tape Swap Radio’s IceHouse Tonight series. The night featured four hardcore bands — Swimmers Lungs, Manbeast, Tile, and Couch Slut — making for, frankly, the heaviest night of music I’ve ever experienced.
Last night’s show, as well as all of Tape Swap Radio’s efforts, was completely DIY and took a village to make a reality. The series was started by local residents Matt Molchany (whom you might know as the frontman of indie rock band Voirvoir) and Shamus McGroggan. The pair, as well as a host of local musicians and music supporters, make it their mission to showcase a different genre at each Tape Swap Radio show.
I also found it interesting to learn that Tape Swap Radio does more than produce live events. Tape Swap is also a music and video series that exclusively features DIY and independent bands. The show airs every other Friday at 11 p.m. on 88.1 WDIY FM, the Lehigh Valley’s NPR station.
On behalf of Lehigh Valley Underground, I want to send congratulations to Tape Swap Radio for a job well done on last night’s show, and a sincere “Thank You” for their efforts in making our music scene that much more vibrant. You can learn more about Tape Swap Radio online and on Facebook.
