It must be Musikfest, because the crowds in Bethlehem certainly didn’t seem to be suffering from a typical case of the Mondays.

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2018. But, as of today, we are.
Since 2016, we’ve teamed up with the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA) to present a local talent showcase during Musikfest. We’ll do it again, presenting a pair of full bands and shining a light on local music at the nation’s largest free outdoor music festival!
The Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA) and ArtsQuest are teaming up again to open the Levitt Pavilion season with a quartet of 2018 Lehigh Valley Music Awards winners.
It’s hard to believe that we’re already a quarter of the way through 2018.
Before the 19th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards took place inside of the Musikfest Cafe on Sunday, March 4, there was the official Lehigh Valley Underground Preshow inside of the ArtsQuest Center lobby.
And, of course, WLVU: The Sound of The Underground prepared for the occasion.
We had ourselves a barnburner of a Sunday evening at the Lehigh Valley Music Awards. Congratulations once more to all of the deserving winners, and thanks to everyone who stopped to chat with WLVU: The Sound of The Underground on the red carpet at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.
Speaking of The Sound of The Underground, there will be many sounds for you to enjoy…
The music community came out to the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks on Sunday for one of the premier nights of 2018: the 19th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards.
This year, parity was the name of the game, as several new and emerging winners joined established favorites to create one of the most diverse fields of LVMA recipients to date.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Mar. 5, 2018 – Lehigh Valley Underground, the premier community resource for local music and entertainment news in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey, captured three total awards at the 19th Annual Lehigh Valley Music Awards in a ceremony Sunday night inside of the Musikfest Café at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.
The accolades are the first in Lehigh Valley Underground’s history, dating back to the organization’s official launch in January 2016. Lehigh Valley Underground won an award on each the Fan and Industry ballots, with the organization received a nod for Outstanding Music Website on the Fan ballot, breaking a long-running winning streak previously held by popular local 1960s tribute band, The Large Flowerheads. On the Industry ballot, LVU captured the award for Outstanding Music Supporter (Organization).
LVU Founder/Editor-in-Chief Gerard Longo also scored his first individual honor at the ceremony, coming out of a deep and talented field of nominees to capture the Outstanding Music Supporter (Individual) award on the Industry ballot.

“Lehigh Valley Underground has put in countless hours toward building a stronger community around local music, and we are incredibly honored to have our efforts recognized by the community in the form of three Lehigh Valley Music Awards,” said Gerard Longo, Founder/Editor-in-Chief of Lehigh Valley Underground. “I would like to thank the team at LVU and WLVU: The Sound of The Underground for their passion and tireless efforts, as well as our community of musicians and local supporters, who believe in and trust Lehigh Valley Underground as a community resource.”
According to the Lehigh Valley Music Awards’ official website, the event “is a prestigious annual extravaganza that honors, rewards and celebrates the music industry of the greater Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.” The ceremony is produced by the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association, an official non-profit volunteer organization designed to produce music related events throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley.
