UMC20: (Mostly) New Faces Week (Jan. 24, 2023)

Looks like we get a bonus UMC20 this month, with January having five Tuesdays and all.

So, we’re using this opportunity to spread our wings a bit, bringing you a lot of first-timers to the UMC ecosystem mixed in with some returning friends with brand-new songs.

We’ll be back next Tuesday with the Best of January, and for certain, a few of these will make the cut. Till then, revel in the splendors of this week’s compilation.

LISTEN: On ‘Godless,’ Fyre Byrd Breaks the Rules (The Right Way)

This Thursday on The Quinn Spinn, we’re thrilled to welcome Fyre Byrd. Now based in Nashville, this Australian-born brother-sister duo is bursting onto the local scene with a brand of loud, emotional music that often defies genre conventions.

If you want an example of that, look no further than their new single, “Godless,” released this past Friday.

PREMIERE: Kara Frazier’s ‘I Love You’ is a Timeless Masterpiece

Since coming to Nashville, one thing we’ve always been able to count on is Kara Frazier‘s knack for delivering soulful R&B cuts that are modern, yet timeless. Frazier’s world-class vocal abilities always seem to shine, adding depth and feeling to any track on which she is featured.

Her new single, “I Love You,” continues this glorious tradition.

UMC20: Picking Up Steam (Jan. 10, 2023)

It seems like everyone is beginning to awaken from their holiday-induced winter slumber. We’ve certainly been busy over here at UMC, and from the looks of it, plenty of musicians in our orbit are, too. For one thing, this week is set to be a big one for releases, and you’ll surely hear some of those in this space this time next week.

But… let’s not get ahead of ourselves, because we have plenty of fire to keep you warm in the meantime. What do you say we get right to it?

P.S.: If you look at the bottom of the track listing, you might see a clue about our first NashLive! show announcement of the year… 😉

UMC50: 50 Memorable Songs from 2022

Folks, it’s finally here. The day has arrived.

Today, we narrow down the entire year to just 50 songs.

And, let me tell ya, it was a tall task. You’ve brought the heat to us consistently, and there were close calls and tough decisions throughout. We also had to factor in variety — we ensured that as many genres and flavors were represented as possible, to showcase the musical kaleidoscope that is the UMC community.

We hope you enjoy what we have for you on this year’s compilation. Check it out!

Let’s go! Listen to UMC50!
