As you know, we have 10 performers across six venues this Friday throughout South Bethlehem. We’ll get to that in a minute. But, even outside of that, this week is still 100% stacked!

The Balcony Showcase, hosted periodically at Bangor’s Broadway Pub by our WLVU: The Sound of The Underground colleagues at The Balcony Show, will serve as the scene of WLVU’s fall launch party on Friday, October 13.

Our friends and WLVU: The Sound of The Underground colleagues Tape Swap Radio are quite the respected entity in the local DIY community. Not only does their show broadcast on our fine station and on WDIY 88.1 FM, but they’re well-renowned for their periodical live indie showcases throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Indie rock icon Calvin Johnson is bringing his latest band, Selector Dub Narcotic, to the Bethlehem Area Public Library for a performance on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Also performing will be Lehigh Valley indie rock band VoirVoir and New York City/Washington D.C. psychedelic pop band Secret Cities. The concert will be the second in Tape Swap Radio’s “Library After Hours” series, bringing live music to the library’s newly remodeled performance space.

As we continue to hint around about big things on the way for WLVU: The Sound of The Underground this fall, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that The Quinn Spinn, which airs on the station Monday nights at 7 p.m. ET, is planning a big fall season full of new, live episodes.
And, if you’re an artist – or just a person with a story to tell – we want you to be part of our plans!
One thing you might notice if you’ve been listening to WLVU: The Sound of The Underground lately is that things are seeming a bit more organized. That’s because we’re taking all of our music and categorizing it by genre. So, on Tuesday evenings, you might hear a rock block. On Sunday afternoons, you’ll hear a solid couple hours of jazz. Expect more programming blocks like this to cater to specific tastes going forward. More information is to come.
