Songs You Should Hear: Riding the Love Rollercoaster

Love is a variable experience. Its initial dopamine hit can leave us feeling full of wonder and possibility. Love can also leave us feeling low, and unsure of who we are after it has run its course. Sometimes, love can turn infatuous — even dangerous — before we even realize it.

Whatever the case, love is a journey, and these three Songs You Should Hear take us on that journey — of love for others, love for our vices, and love for ourselves.

UMC20: Starting November Strong (Nov. 1, 2022)

They say that the end of the year is when things are supposed to “slow down.” If the submissions we’ve received over the past couple weeks are any indication, that assumption would seem to be false.

There’s so much auditory enjoyment coming our way on a daily basis, and it always makes for an exciting and dynamic weekly compilation. It’s also amazing to see how music connects us from our different corners of the world — from LA to New York, from Nashville to Cheyenne, these tunes aren’t all tied to one locale.

Songs You Should Hear… from Sunday’s NashLive! Lineup

We have a solid NashLive! show to look forward to this Sunday at The East Room, and we thought we’d use this week’s Songs You Should Hear to celebrate it.

Supersonic folk troubadour (and longtime friend of UMC) Ali Aslam is coming down from Brooklyn to join Nashville locals Mary Jennings and Pepperwood, and we’re pretty psyched about it. So psyched, that we’ve given you a preview of what’s to come this weekend. Enjoy!

UMC20: Preview ‘A Night of Nashville Hip Hop’ + More (May 24, 2022)

First thing’s first: we’re going to need you to come to The Cobra Nashville this Friday for A Night of Nashville Hip Hop II. You can get tickets here as long as you’re 21 or older.

This week’s UMC20 spotlights the artists joining us this Friday night in East Nashville. They lead us off, and there’s plenty more fun where that came from. There’s a splash of pop, a whole lot of rock, and even a little Americana in there for your tastes.

Let’s go!
