Fall Preview 2017: It’s All About the Fests
We know it doesn’t feel much like it outside right now, but we assure you: according to our calendars, today is the first official day of fall. Summer is over, folks.

Earlier this month, we announced that Billy Bauer Band and Acoustic Kitty Project would be teaming up to take the Godfrey Daniels stage during the next installment of the Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series on Friday, October 6.
We’re not wasting any time in putting together our October lineup in the Lehigh Valley Underground First Friday Concert Series (in partnership with SouthSide Arts District). We begin by telling you who will perform at Godfrey Daniels on Friday, October 6.
On Saturday night, the excitement of those inside of a packed Musikfest Cafe was unmistakable, as the sold-out crowd came through to hear Billy Bauer Band pay tribute to one of its biggest influences — and one of the most successful touring artists of all time — Dave Matthews Band.
So… now what?
Now, we keep going! Musikfest might be over for another year, but as always, there’s plenty going on around here to keep the pulse of the music scene beating the rest of the year through.
When you hear the sounds of Billy Bauer Band nearby, it’s hard not to stick around a while and enjoy the quartet’s bright brand of acoustic rock. That’s what I did on Thursday night — during a festival with so many stages running at any given time, I dedicated a full set to enjoying this Bethlehem-based band.
We continue our steadfast march toward the second weekend of Musikfest. It’s hard to believe we’re already working our way into the latter stages of the festival, but all that means right now is that the party is set to pick up once again.
With that, there’s plenty to like about today’s lineup, which once again includes a healthy dose of local artists. Check out the full lineup here.
This week, it’s all about variety. From rock and Americana, from jazz to blues – and a dash of comedy – you’re sure to find something you like this week.
Here we go!
Billy Bauer graciously invited Lehigh Valley Underground to make the trip up to Stroudsburg’s Sherman Theater on Friday night to catch his eponymous band’s opening gig in support of Gin Blossoms.
We happily obliged.

EDIT: Moved to July 2 raindate.
Allentown will once again hold its Fourth of July Weekend celebration at J. Birney Crum Stadium, and will enlist the help of some of the region’s most popular artists for the festivities.
