NashLive! Pop-Up: Borrowed Sparks and Riley Haynie

We’ve always got new tricks up our sleeves at NashLive!. Next Saturday, February 12, we’re giving you a night of rock and roll on us.

We’re excited to team with The Cobra Nashville (2511 Gallatin Ave.) on our first ever free NashLive! Pop-Up. We’ll be in the venue’s front bar, where we’ll bring you the musical stylings of Borrowed Sparks and Riley Haynie on the house.

We once described the music of Borrowed Sparks as “a prime cut of American rock and roll… calling to mind the maverick spirit of the legendary Tom Petty, layered with a simmering angst sure to appeal to fans of artists ranging from Social Distortion to The Gaslight Anthem.” We certainly still feel that way, and are excited to team up with Mike Bay and co. as they show you what they’ve been working on — including acoustic renditions of the band’s signature tracks, which you can find over on Spotify as they’re released.

Mike brought his good friend Riley Haynie into the fold. The Montana native — who released his debut album, Years, in 2021 — brings hardcore and heavy metal roots to his brand of punk-infused rock and roll. He also just released a fun cover of Cher’s 1998 single, “Believe,” which you can find over here.

This is usually where we tell you about ticket price information, but again, this show is free! Come to Cobra Nashville at 8 p.m. with a valid photo ID (21+), and come hang with the NashLive! community.

Self-Made Men: A Conversation with Tee Walls, Esquire, and Keith Mosley

Led by hip hop artist, producer, and entrepreneur Tee Walls, Wall to Wall Entertainment is an artist collective which also prominently features the talents of R&B singer Esquire and rapper/producer Keith Mosley. This driven trio of artists is doing everything they can to put themselves on the map, while fostering a creative community bound to impact generations to come.

Hear what these self-made men are working on, as we get ready to host them for A Night of Nashville Hip Hop at Cobra Nashville alongside Lord Goldie, Mr. 110, and Rambo Lee on Saturday, October 16.

Songs You Should Hear: PuffHost Brings the Good Vibes, Esquire Brings the Love Back + More

I had an idea last week, somewhere in the midst of getting ready to move into my new apartment (Friday) and throw NashLive’s first ever festival (Saturday). That idea is to feature a few songs in a single article, quick hits-style, and to tell you what we like about them!

In the future, the idea is to have other UMC contributors (not just me) give their staff picks for the week. But for now, I don’t see any harm in starting this party. With that, I welcome you to…

NashLive! Presents: Krantz, Monte Mader, and The Mad Sugars

We make our debut at The Cobra Nashville on Thursday, October 14 — and we’ll be accompanied by the talents of Krantz, Monte Mader, and The Mad Sugars to celebrate!

Krantz can best be described as “rock ‘n roll in color from Music City, USA.” Those who join us as Cobra better be ready for some earworms, including the new single, “Louisiana,” set to drop this fall!

Monte Mader describes herself as a “singer/songwriter and smile production expert.” The Wyoming native’s infectious onstage energy and heartfelt, attitude infused lyrics combine to create badass entertainment for all in her path.
Fronted by Berklee College of Music grad Adam Lawrence, The Mad Sugars fuse garage rock and dance pop to create lively and engaging performances, with lyrical content centered around the nightlife misadventures of young adults in the 21st Century. Originally hailing from New York City, the band now calls Nashville home, and will be celebrating the release of its new EP with us at Cobra!
