Our First New NashLive! Lineup Features…

NashLive! welcomes an interstellar lineup of Nashville-based artists for a first-of-its-kind live music and content creation experience — and you get to be a part of the magic!

Alexis Donn is a Nashville-based pop artist who writes music to remind you how powerful your soul really is. On March 23, she’ll give us a first glimpse into her Star Child Universe.

The Healers are Lord Goldie and Foundation Mecca, a duo of Nashville-based heal hop artists on a mission to heal the world through music. Both prolific in their own right, The Healers are among Nashville’s most prominent and best beloved hip hop acts.

On her newest record, VicesARREIS takes on the human condition and dives deeply into the the fact that everyone has a little bit of darkness in their lives. From fiery, bright reds to muted, sullen maroons, the red era is ready to make a dramatic mark on the world of pop music.

NashLive! is giving artists an opportunity to curate the live music experiences they’ve always dreamed of, while giving their audience an opportunity to be a part of the magic. Each live music experience is one-of-a-kind, and gives artists and fans an opportunity to connect and create moments that will last long after the lights go down.

Tickets are available now for $20 in advance (plus taxes and fees), and will move to $25 day of show. We expect to sell out, so click the button below to get your hands on yours before they’re gone!

RECAP: Sugadaisy w/ Mills at The Basement

To see Sugadaisy live is to step into a dynamic live music experience hallmarked by an intriguing blend of influences. You’ll lose yourself in the band’s jam and psych-rock sensibilities, presented with rock and roll swagger. Simultaneously, you’ll also find tenderness in the Americana undertones present in different moments throughout their catalog. Without question, this quintet from Bowling Green, KY brings a fresh, multi-faceted musical perspective to the table that fans of bands like Dr. Dog and Goose will surely gravitate toward (assuming they haven’t already).

It’s no wonder, then, that they performed to a packed house in Nashville on Saturday night, loading up The Basement with fans who came from near and far to hang on every moment.

The band’s 50-minute set was a thrilling precursor to a big month ahead, as they head out on the road as special guests on St. Paul and the Broken Bones’ Angels in Science Fiction tour, with dates from Alabama to Vermont (and a good chunk of states in between).

Supporting Sugadaisy was Mills, a fellow Kentucky native who just returned from a five-year stint on the West Coast. Mills’ acoustic set showcased his own versatility; his infectious brand of acoustic pop delivered a raw honesty that endeared him to new fans, while the existing ones in attendance came ready to sing along.

WATCH: The Mad Sugars Cook Up Trouble with ‘Dare Me’

The Mad Sugars ft. Monte Mader - Dare Me

For all the potential downsides, mischief can certainly have its fun moments.

The Mad Sugars — our favorite storytellers when it comes to tales of nightlife misadventures — capture that sense of fleeting, restless merriment in the music video for “Dare Me,” featuring Nashville-based vocalist Monte Mader. Directed by Brian Thompson and shot at Helping Our Music Evolve, the video is an opportunity for the band to let loose in the spirit of high-energy rock and roll.

“‘Dare Me’ is a dance rock tribute to the nights you hit it off with someone who makes you want to go out and get into trouble,” the band said.

“Dare Me” is from the band’s forthcoming full-length album, Personal Space, available everywhere on March 22. You can pre-order the album here, and watch the video below!

PHOTOS: Native Manor Heavy Hitters at 6th & Peabody

Have you ever been to a writers round where everyone, across the board, was really, really good? We have!

OK, that statement can apply quite a few times over throughout UMC history. However, the most recent example took place this past Wednesday at 6th & Peabody in Nashville, where Native Manor hosted the February edition of their Heavy Hitters round.

We caught (and captured) most of the night. Of course, there was no shortage of country, but this eclectic lineup featured a couple different shades of pop, and even some Latin and worship music.

Below, you’ll find a lineup breakdown, in case you’re looking for some new artists to check out. All of the artists are also tagged in this Instagram post.

6:30 p.m.: Keifer Wiley, Clayton Shay, The Dryes
7:30 p.m.: Noah West, April Kry, Ben Fuller, Noah Sotillo
8:30 p.m.: Sarah Darling, Jimencio, Trevor Martin, Kayley Bishop
9:30 p.m.: Mark Addison Chandler, Rebecca Brunner, AJ Gatio

LISTEN: Cole Gallagher Makes Us Glad We’ve Found These ‘Lost Sounds’

When it feels like the world is crumbling, a plea for peace can go a long way.

That plea is offered by Cole Gallagher, whose new single, “Lost Sounds,” is a timeless throwback and modern masterpiece, all at once. Dynamic production creates a lush folk-rock landscape that is both poignantly tender and beautifully robust, while the depth and emotion behind Gallagher’s voice is on full display, as he transitions seamlessly between his rugged wail and delicate falsetto.

“‘Lost Sounds’ is my favorite track that I’ve recorded,” shares Gallagher. “I was so lucky to have gotten the chance to write it with one of the local legends of Muscle Shoals, my good friend, (GRAMMY-winner) Barry Billings. The song is a hopeful and nostalgic sonic call-back to the times of The Byrds’ ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’ and ‘As Tears Go By’ by The Rolling Stones. I could not be more proud of this track’s message and the production of it, which was masterfully orchestrated by both Michael Fahey and Barry Billings. I am so excited for people to hear this.”

In addition to Billings and Fahey, “Lost Sounds” features the contributions of an all-star ensemble. These include GRAMMY-winning mix engineer Vance Powell (Phish, Chris Stapleton, Jack White); and 400 Unit members Jimbo Hart (bass) and Chad Gamble (drums), both fresh off their GRAMMY win for Best Americana Album for Jason Isbell’s Weathervanes.

With that, we’ll get out of the way and let you enjoy this one!

LISTEN: Lord Goldie Puts It ‘On da Line’

Through the years, Lord Goldie has shown that she’s willing to do whatever it takes to elevate her artist platform alongside the Nashville hip hop community.

Goldie’s latest single, “On da Line,” is just the latest motivational release in her Lost Tapes series. Produced by Play Dat Beat Wee Wee, the single illustrates the hustle it takes to succeed as an independent creative — including the fears we need to face, the actions we must take, and the distractions and relationships we must sometimes leave behind.

Sonically, “On da Line” employs a trap beat as the foundation for a triumphant soundscape; one which recalls the celebratory mainstream hip hop anthems of the late 2000s and early 2010s, while maintaining an “eyes on the prize” intensity fit for any workout playlist. Add it to yours after you try it out below!

UMC20: It’s a New Month, Yes it Is! (Feb. 6, 2024)

As always, we keep things interesting, with plenty of genre-bending-and-breaking throughout this adventure. You’ll find sounds you never expected together, blended in perfect harmony. You’ll also find some straightforward cuts here, if that’s your bag.

And, you’ll find our bonus track: an episode of The Quinn Spinn featuring Nashville-based hip hop artist Raw Proof, who stopped by to chat about changing landscapes, community impact, and living a balanced life as a creative.
