Hey, in case you haven’t heard… there’s a lot going on around here over the next couple weeks. However, even with Musikfest taking its 35th trip around the sun, it’s fair to mention that there’s plenty happening outside the festival grounds.
Folks… it’s time.
The 35th edition of Musikfest (officially) kicks off tonight in Bethlehem, and we are as ready as we’re going to be! Rain or shine, Christmas City is sure to be jumping tonight between opening night of the nation’s largest free outdoor music festival and plenty of other fantastic musical adventures within Bethlehem’s city limits (ahem, #LVUFirstFriday).
As is customary, we’ll be giving you five – count ‘em – five free stage performances that you should visit in your travels throughout each day of the festival. So, if you’re opting to head to Musikfest tonight, here’s the evening’s…
There is a lot happening in the Lehigh Valley music scene over the course of the next two weeks. With the amazing lineup for LVU’s First Friday Concert Series and the start of Musikfest only a day away, there will be plenty to see, hear and talk about in the days ahead.
Every year, in addition to Musikfest veterans, new artists come into the fold every year at the nation’s largest free outdoor music festival.
One of those, Matt Wheeler of Matt Wheeler & Vintage Heart, hails from Lancaster. Matt has the opportunity he’s been waiting for, set to perform a solo set at Martin Guitar Lyrikplatz on the festival’s final day, Sunday, August 12 at 7 p.m.
We caught up briefly with Matt to get his thoughts on the gig.
Philly-based indie rockers Ceramic Animal are no strangers to the Lehigh Valley or Musikfest. The foursome will perform at their fourth Musikfest this year, with three performances (and a main stage opening slot for Kesha) on tap.
We caught up with the guys, to get a veteran perspective on the nation’s largest free outdoor music festival.
This Monday, Lehigh Valley with Love released the latest episode of its podcast, taking the opportunity to preview Musikfest.
Patrons looking for convenient and close access to all the music, food, and fun of Musikfest have more options than ever this year.
In addition to hosting Julie Williams during the August 2018 edition of #LVUFirstFriday, our friends and collaborators at Domaci will keep the party going on weekends, for as long as Musikfest is in town.
The #LVUMagicSummer just got a touch more magical.
