We’ve known the incredibly talented Anthony Cubbage since our shared time in Pennsylvania, during the days of a little upstart music blog called Lehigh Valley Underground.
Life has since taken us to different locations. As you may know, we rebranded and arrived in Nashville in 2018, while Cubbage relocated to a burgeoning original music scene in upstate New York a couple years back. Through it all, one thing that has remained consistent is Cubbage’s ability to write and release compelling, emotive songs. No matter the genre, he always seems to strike gold.

For the past decade-plus, Joywave has been leaving a mark on the alternative rock world. Formed in Rochester, NY in 2010, the band broke through by featuring on Big Data’s 2014 hit, “Dangerous,” before releasing their full length debut, How Do You Feel Now?, the following year.
Fast forward to the present-day, and the band brought its Express Wash tour to The Basement East on Saturday night. The result was high-powered, visually engaging set that showcased the band’s versatility and love of sonic exploration.

On Wednesday, March 8 (International Women’s Day), Underground Music Collective teamed with Women in Music Nashville to present ‘Succeeding as a Woman in the Music Industry,’ featuring a panel of female entrepreneurs who shared their experiences navigating the music industry, the challenges they’ve faced and overcome, and the lessons they’ve learned.
This Wednesday, March 29 at 6 p.m., we’re proud to offer a special encore presentation of this panel discussion on our YouTube channel, to close out Women’s History Month.
