Over the course of the spring and summer, we were offered many tastes of Laura Mustard‘s Treehouse EP. We learned that “Nobody’s Road” is ever even throughout the course of life. Then, “Eager” taught us to celebrate our mistakes in front of a Motown-inspired backdrop, before we escaped to the “Treehouse” itself.

Having a month with five Tuesdays simplifies and complicates the UMC20 Best Of selection process, all at once.

It’s simplified, for the fact that we try to pick five songs apiece from each of month’s prior four playlists. It’s complicated when narrowing it down to those five each, however, because there’s so much good stuff to choose from.

The Quinn Spinn: Finding Your Way on the Creative Journey with Nick Ryan

A Connecticut native who grew up in Virginia, Nick Ryan’s early songwriting experiences in Nashville moved him to pursue music full-time in Music City. Born in the 80s, the up-and-coming songwriter draws influence from the likes of Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morrissette, and other prominent 90s alt-pop artists.

Today on The Quinn Spinn, we go in-depth on Nick’s journey, as he tells us about the many projects that comprise his “five-year plan.”
