Let’s address the elephant in the room: Musikfest begins Friday. Just like last year, you can be sure that Lehigh Valley Underground will have daily previews of the action as the days go by.

When EU4IA performs at The Originals Music Series Thursday night at 7 p.m., it will be the first performance in a long time for the Lehigh Valley alt rockers.

My colleague Pitbull and I were filled with anticipation and excitement for the night’s events. Friday night at Chicago Restaurant and Club Gravity was a banner night for the Lehigh Valley music scene, as The Fyre and Ice Show booked a stellar rock and roll lineup to serve as the centerpiece of its Third Annual Lehigh Valley Musicians Social.
Several years ago, I went to my first Backyard Bands competition at the Allentown Fair. I didn’t know what to expect since it was my first time, but this band blew me away! I walked away wanting more, and that’s what you will experience at one of their shows.
Their amazing musicianship, on and off the stage, is something to be commended. Add that to their stellar vocals and unique style, and you have a six-piece monster of rock! With the different influences and talents that each member brings to the table, they fit together like a perfect puzzle.
Summer officially begins on Wednesday. Coincidentally, it seems like the action across our music scene – and the entertainment scene as a whole – is also heating up.

Almost two years ago, I was sitting in my seat at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, waiting to see a band that had very quickly grown on me after first seeing them perform in 2007. They were celebrating their 15th anniversary together as a band, as well as their new album, titled “6.”
Not many bands in the Lehigh Valley can hold that title of longevity, especially when they are still writing new music, and still playing shows.
