NASHVILLE: Music on the Move Showcase Submissions Open This Friday

We just saw the news that our old pals at Music on the Move Studios are gearing up to host their first all-female showcase of 2025 on April 2 at Nashville’s famed 3rd & Lindsley — and we’ve got the information you need to get involved!

Beginning this Friday, February 7, female and female-identifying artists are invited to apply for their opportunity to perform. Music on the Move will be selecting a total of four performers to be featured, putting their names in the history books alongside dozens of women who have graced the stage at the long-running, semi-annual showcase.

The submission deadline is Monday, February 17, with lineup announcements to come that Friday, February 21. All selected performers will have the backing of Music on the Move’s mega-talented, all-female house band, The HellCats.

Evolving Alongside Your Community (ft. Erin McLendon)

Erin McLendon founded Nashville-based Music on the Move Studios (formerly Women on Fire) with an all-female showcase in January 2019. Since then, Music on the Move has evolved into a creative ecosystem for female artists and entrepreneurs alike.

Erin makes her record-breaking fourth guest appearance on The Quinn Spinn to discuss Music on the Move’s evolution alongside her own, in advance of their biggest showcase to date at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley on Tuesday, October 10.

This episode of The Quinn Spinn was recorded and produced at Helping Our Music Evolve (H.O.M.E.), Nashville, TN.

Opening theme: REVEL 9 – All I’ve Become

On Wednesday, March 8 (International Women’s Day), Underground Music Collective teamed with Women in Music Nashville to present ‘Succeeding as a Woman in the Music Industry,’ featuring a panel of female entrepreneurs who shared their experiences navigating the music industry, the challenges they’ve faced and overcome, and the lessons they’ve learned.

This Wednesday, March 29 at 6 p.m., we’re proud to offer a special encore presentation of this panel discussion on our YouTube channel, to close out Women’s History Month.

Hosted by Erin McLendon & The HellCats, this Women’s History Month showcase features performances Erin O’Dowd, Meg Rilley, Noelle McFarland, and Teagan Stewart, as well as pop-up shops from female-owned businesses.

The entire lineup joined The Quinn Spinn for a roundtable discussion about the showcase, and why it’s important for women in music to create their own opportunities. This one’s a deep dive!

Songs You Should Hear: Changing Seasons, Powerful Tunes

We have new tunes blowing in, like the gentle early-autumn breeze currently sweeping through Nashville.

This week’s Songs You Should Hear lineup features three emotionally-gripping new tracks from female artists. We start by whisking you away to the scenic Pacific Northwest, before transporting back in time to the 1980s — with a twist! Then, we close with a frantic pop anthem about the difficulties of finding love, when we find it hard to love ourselves.

Both Erin and Caitie are music educators — Erin teaches voice, while Caitie teaches multiple instruments — who are passionate about helping budding performers achieve their potential. In addition, Music on the Move’s all-female showcases provide independent artists and small businesses with a chance to build community in a live setting, while Caitie’s Paradox Jukebox podcast gives the members of that community an opportunity to share their stories.
