Bi-coastal duo Free Zuma are front man David Kuehl, who has a perfect marriage of Trent Reznor’s tone and Dave Pirner’s (Soul Asylum) vulnerability; as well as Andrew Wallace, whose palpable southern California psychedelic rock takes me to the sounds of the Allah Las and Mystic Braves.

UMC20: Farewell, Summer (Sept. 20, 2022)

We’ve tried to hang on to the summer of 2022 for as long as possible. And, if you’re in Nashville this week, it certainly seems like Mother Nature is thinking along the same lines.

But… it’s over. We’re officially heading into fall this week, but not before a last hurrah of high-powered summer bops. The first half of UMC20 is loaded with those, before gradually giving way to more mellow sounds befitting the cooler months.

OK… there are some Americana-tinged scorchers at the end, too. We couldn’t help ourselves!

It’s the last Tuesday of the first month of 2022, which means it’s time to bring you the month’s hottest fire.

January brought plenty of fun to us — and not just on Sunday Funday. The year’s opening statement was a strong one, and proved that people are coming to play in 2022 — and hopefully, more and more artists will find themselves able to come out and play live, as long as ‘rona doesn’t get in the way.

We’ll remember January 2022 as an exciting start to the year. Hear why we feel that way below!
